Intelligence sleuths say United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) Chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa has “surrendered” at a time when the feud between him and the outfit’s self-styled commander-in-chief, Paresh Barua, is at its peak. For the past few months, Barua and Rajkhowa had stopped talking to each other. On one occasion, when Barua reiterated his commitment to revolution, Rajkhowa remarked among his aides that one needed people for a revolution and a single man can’t bring about a revolution. After the blast in Nalbari (believed to be a plot by Barua) in which at least seven people were killed, Rajkhowa even remarked that one or two blasts can’t derail the political negotiation process.
