A Bangalore-based European who had co-ordinated the visit of a European delegation to Karnataka about a month ago is at his wit’s end now. As part of the organising team for the delegation, he had encouraged small and medium enterprises from his country to invest in the state. The delegation was accompanied by the mayor of a major European city, who closely questioned him on state politics. Both he and prospective investors were reassured on Karnataka’s stable polity and progressive policies. Given the factionalism that has broken out in the state ruling party, he is fervently hoping that there will be no more calls from the mayor’s office for an update on the politics in the state.
