General Motors India President Karl Slym is well known for his puckish sense of humour and he used it to good effect at the launch of the Chevrolet Beat diesel variant in Gujarat recently. As an expatriate from the UK, he told journalists, he had a special reason for being happy, apart from the launch. That got everyone’s attention until he explained that his delight was over England’s 196-run victory at Lord’s in the first of the four-Test series. He must be even happier after England won the second Test.
