Taxi drivers - even the standalone operators who line pavements outside railway stations - seem to be getting smarter to compete effectively with PE-backed ride hailing services such as Ola and Uber. Ola and Uber, which have drawn criticism for predatory pricing, have eaten away a large chunk of the market serviced by local taxi services.
