Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, among the senior-most ministers in the Narendra Modi government, is an exasperated man these days. Apart from being the Finance Minister, he is also the Information & Broadcasting Minister and Corporate Affairs Minister. But these days he is learning to deal with the reality that the government does not have a majority in the Rajya Sabha. So as Leader of the House, he is having to spend a lot of time and energy fighting the never-ending Opposition attacks on the government. The repeated adjournments of the House, discloses a ministry insider, compels Jaitley to spend hours waiting for the logjam to break - time that he would have liked to spend more fruitfully in one of his many ministries.
