BJP leader Arun Jaitley’s speech in the Rajya Sabha was peppered with humour. While talking of Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee’s two-hour speech where she spoke of setting up hotels, hospitals, filtered water bottling plants and even a train to Bangladesh, Jaitley said this reminded him of the old Tata Steel ad — after listing what the group did by way of philanthropy, the tagline said, “We also make steel.” Banerjee, he said, was primarily doing the work of the ministries of tourism, health, external affairs and yes, also ran the Railways.
Another dig at food inflation saw Jaitley saying the government was now emulating Sachin Tendulkar — it had scored a century in the price of pulses and a half-century in the case of sugar.
