At a recent IPO press conference of state-run Oil India Limited, company executives made frequent comparisons with the performance of the much bigger ONGC. When journalists asked why there were so many references to ONGC, OIL chief NM Borah replied, “Comparisons are natural and we are not scared. It’s just that if we compare ourselves with ONGC on some parameters we come out with flying colours.”
