The Opposition Congress had spent the whole of the monsoon session of Parliament protesting against the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government. When 25 of its MPs were suspended from the Lok Sabha for five days, Congress President Sonia Gandhi led her party members in dharnas, complete with black bands and black robes, at the base of the Mahatma Gandhi statue in Parliament. So on Friday, the last day of the five-day protest, senior Congress MPs appeared a much relieved lot - the Delhi weather was too hot and humid to carry on protesting non-stop before television cameras. Some said, they would prefer to go back protesting on the floor of Parliament itself, which they are likely to do from today.
