Lalu Prasad is not the lone Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) leader who enjoys a seat in the prestigious first row in the Lok Sabha. In fact, his party has another coveted first row seat by luck. What happened is this: Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda was allotted a first row seat out of the Treasury bench quota, next to Prasad, as per convention. But during the initial days, Deve Gowda didn't turn up and Prasad's party MP, Uma Shanker Singh, occupied Gowda's place to give company to his leader. After former rural development minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, RJD's deputy leader in the Lok Sabha, advised Uma Shanker Singh to continue to sit in Gowda's seat, RJD ended up occupying more front row seats than the real allies of the Congress.
