Yedddyurappa and his secret vote

Forced by the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) top leadership to resign as the Karnataka chief minister, B S Yeddyurappa moved heaven and earth to stay on as the CM. When the BJP brass finally decided to conduct secret voting to choose between Sadanand Gowda and Jagadish Shettar to be the new chief minister of the state, Yeddyurappa wrote his own name on the piece of paper given to him. It was then pointed out to the former CM that he could no longer vote for himself.
