Not only is Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati famously autocratic, she doesn’t believe in wasting words and, of course, time when it comes to exercising her power. According to an official in the know, Cabinet meetings in the state have become well known for their brevity. Most of them don’t last beyond 10 minutes, since the decisions have been pre-decided by the chief minister. So much so that there have been several occasions when Mayawati has come to Cabinet meetings, announced the decisions and left. The only response from the ministers attending these meetings is “jee, behenji” at regular intervals, the official added.
