Whatever it was, it ensured External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee was unusually pensive at the joint rally with Trinamool Congress (TC) chief Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal. Some TC leaders pointed this out to Banerjee who then went up to Mukherjee and said, “Why are you not smiling? If you don’t smile, it will send a wrong signal.” Mukherjee obliged immediately.
