In the aftermath of the Kerala floods, the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (Irdai) has provided guidelines to make the claims process easier for policyholders. It has asked insurance companies to simplify the registration and claim-settlement procedures, and follow the same procedure as the one used after the Chennai floods in 2015.
