6 Left parties to jointly contest UP election

Six Left parties, including CPI and CPI(M), have decided to jointly contest the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly election.

In a joint press conference here, leaders of CPI, CPI(M), CPI(ML), SUCI(C), Forward Bloc and RSP said the Left parties will fight the election on various issues.

CPI state secretary Girish said they would organise a joint rally in the state capital on November 9 to appeal to "secular forces and the common people to defeat those involved in issue-less politics and strengthen the Left".
