AAP leader Vishwas claims no development in Amethi

Vishwas said Rs 55,000 crore was reportedly spent on Amethi's development, which was not visible

In his ongoing campaign against Rahul Gandhi in his bastion, AAP leader Kumar Vishwas today visited a Dalit woman's hut which the Congress leader had visited in January 2008 and held that her situation had not changed despite that.

A day after his party's rally here, the Aam Aadmi Party leader visited Sunita's place, visited by Rahul earlier, in Jawaharpur village here and had food there.

Rahul had spent a night on January 26, 2008 and had food there. Vishwas said Sunita's fortunes had not changed despite the Congress leader's visit and she was still living a "miserable" life.

He spoke to Sunita about her problems and directed party workers to ensure that she got a roof above her head.

Later, while talking to people, Vishwas said Rs 55,000 crore was reportedly spent on Amethi's development, which was not visible.

"There is no electricity..There is no water in tubewells, no development in villages...People should take its account from Rahul," he said.

The AAP leader yesterday had a tumultuous start to his campaign in Rahul Gandhi's constituency as protesters showed black flags and pelted stones but the rookie challenger had said he won't be frightened and attacked the Congress vice president for "doing little" for the people.

Taking on Gandhi at the rally, Vishwas had said the "Rajkumar" had indulged in "symbolism" by eating in houses of Dalits and not raised even a single question related to people of Amethi in Parliament in past 10 years.
