AAP's Yogendra Yadav and Naveen Jaihind resign as PAC members

Party sources said that both offered to resign after the clashes between the two came to the fore and Jaihind was also served a notice

After its drubbing in the Lok Sabha polls, senior AAP leader Yogendra Yadav and party's Haryana state convenor Naveen Jaihind today tendered their resignations from the Political Affairs Committee and National Executive bodies of the party respectively.

Party spokesperson and Delhi unit secretary Dilip Pandey clarified that the duo had resigned as members of the PAC and NE and not from the party.

Pankaj Gupta, party's national secretary has said that the issue will be on the agenda of National Executive whenever it meets.

"@AapYogendra & .@naveenjaihind are still with @AamAadmiParty... And resignation given from PAC & NE resp. To be discussed in NE meeting," Pandey tweeted.
 

Party sources said that both offered to resign after the clashes between the two came to the fore and Jaihind was also served a notice. Yadav is party's Haryana in charge while Jaihind is the state convenor. The psephologist-turned- politician and Jaihind unsucessfully contested from Gurgaon and Rohtak respectively.

Yadav has also clarified that he has not quit from the party and the rumours are baseless.

"Rumours about my quitting AAP are baseless. I am very much with the party and committed to working for it harder than ever," he tweeted.

However, when asked why he quit as the PAC member, he declined to comment on the isssue.
