ABVP's win first gift after Modi's PM candidate announcement': BJP

The ABVP won three of the four seats in the DUSU polls

Expressing its delight with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad's (ABVP) victory in the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday said this is the first gift after Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's anointment as the prime ministerial candidate for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

"This is the first gift after Narendra Modi's announcement (as PM candidate)," said BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain.

Meanwhile, ABVP candidate Aman Awana, who was today elected the DUSU President, said Modi is the idol of the youth.

"Yes of course Modiji is the idol of the youth. He was an ABVP member in the past too," said Awana.

 

The ABVP won three of the four seats in the DUSU polls. The ABVP won the seats for the president, vice president and joint secretary, while the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) won the secretary's seat.

The results of the DUSU polls were announced today.
