All 37 Lok Sabha MPs belonging to All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) on Monday skipped the proceedings of the House, a day after their party chief and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa suffered a cardiac arrest in Chennai.

The benches of the AIADMK members were completely deserted, as they were apparently in Chennai after receiving the news about Jayalalithaa's health condition.

Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker M Thambidurai too was absent from the House.

AIADMK MPs, when they are in the House, sport traditional Tamil dress - white shirt and 'vesthi' and carry a picture of Jayalalithaa distinctly putting in their shirt pockets.
