Akhilesh Yadav asks officials to provide arhar dal at reasonable prices

Amid outcry over spiralling pulse prices Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today directed officials to ensure availability of 'arhar daal' at reasonable price through state depots and take stern action against hoarders.

As per the directives given by the Chief Minister lentil at cheaper rates would be provided through depots of UP State Employees Welfare Corporation and ration cards, an official spokesman said in a statement issued here.

During a high level review meeting the CM expressed concern over unprecedented hike in prices of lentils.

He said that controlling food price inflation was the task of the Centre and the state government was taking measures to provide relief to the people.
 

The CM also directed the officials to take stern action against hoarders and profiteers.
