BJP has not finalised any alliance with MDMK for the coming Lok Sabha polls and it was only in the discussion stage, party leader Subramanian Swamy claimed today.

Replying to a specific question by reporters on the remarks by MDMK general secretary Vaiko about the alliance with BJP, Swamy quipped "it is a statement from the bride only. The bridegroom also have to say ok for the marriage."

Claiming that the party president Rajnath Singh, whom he had met yesterday, has said that the alliance with MDMK was in the discussion stage, he said going by the current trend, BJP would have many allies and capture power in the hustings.

On Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh's remark about BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, that it would be a disaster if he became Prime Pinister, Swamy, who recently merged his Janata Party into BJP, said that India was already in a disastrous stage under Singh and Congress' rule.

Once Modi became prime minister, he would retrieve the lost respect in the eyes of foreign countries, he said.

When asked about his candidature for Lok Sabha, he said that it will be decided by the party and its leaders.
