The Andhra Pradesh government has included the names of prominent industrialists along with the representatives of various industry associations in a newly-constituted task force, which is supposed to play a catalyst role in attracting investments into the state especially in industrial and infrastructure sectors.
The task force has to prepare a strategic road map and provide inputs for overall economic development of the state based on the identified vision, among other things, according to the orders issued by the government. Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu heads the task force.
Godrej group chairman Adi Godrej, ICICI Bank chairman KV Kamath, Sundaram-Clayton Limited chairman Venu Srinivasan, Hero Corp chairman Sunil Kanth Munjal, Wipro chairman Azim Premji, Tata Consultancy Services vice chairman S Ramadorai, former Nasscom president Kiran Karnik, and CII Director General Chandrajit Banerji are among those named in the body.

Apart from working out the strategies for accomplishing the set goals in various sectors of the economy by bringing competitiveness, the task force is also expected to suggest and facilitate projects in public-private partnership (PPP) mode in the state.
The five ministers representing revenue, finance, transport, agriculture and municipal administration portfolios and secretaries of various departments have been named as members. The task force is constituted for a three-year term and is expected to meet once in three month in the first year. It can constitute working groups on specific issues depending on the need, according to the government orders.
