Andhra Pradesh non-gazetted officers (APNGOs), who are on an indefinite strike for the past one month in protest against the proposed bifurcation of the state, have called for a state-wide bandh on Sept 24.

At a meeting held here on Monday, they have decided to intensify their stir and chalked out an action plan. Public meetings would be held at important places across the state starting with Vijayawada on September 20.

APNGOs president Ashok Babu told mediapersons that private educational institutions in the 13 districts of coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema ( Seemandhra) would be closed from September 23-30.

Thereafter, on September 25 and 26, operation of private transport vehicles would be stalled in the region.

The state-owned road transport corporation buses are already off the road for several days in Seemandhra with the corporation employees joining the anti-bifurcation stir.
