Commenting on the developments that took place in the Delhi Assembly, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Yogendra Yadav on Friday said that it was extremely clear now that the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were united in context of the Jan Lokpal Bill.

"In today's Assembly, the developments that took place have made it clear that the Congress and the BJP are united in context of the Jan Lokpal Bill," said Yadav.

"They do not want to introduce this bill which is beneficial for everyone and is good in every possible term," he said.

He further said that nothing was clear on the issue as of now and that it would not be right to state anything before the meeting was over.

"Nothing is entirely clear right now but I guess there is a routine business which is going on, though I am speaking on partial information," he said.

"I would really wish to wait until we get a complete picture from our CM. Arvind will come to the party office and after that we will b holding a meeting," he added.

The Delhi Assembly Speaker M.S. Dhir on Friday announced that the Jan Lokpal Bill has not been introduced in the House.

"42 MLAs are against and 27 are for it, so Jan Lokpal Bill is not being introduced," said Dhir after voting took place for the introduction of the bill.

Meanwhile, the Assembly continued to witness protests by the Opposition who repeatedly entered the well of the House to object to the manner in which the Bill was being tabled.

Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had tabled the bill in the Assembly despite the objection of the Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung's letter to Speaker M.S. Dhir saying the bill does not have his approval on it.

Jung had written to the Delhi Speaker, saying that the Jan Lokpal Bill cannot be tabled in the Assembly, as it does not have his approval on it.
