Expressing concern over the frequent ceasefire violations at the LoC, BJP today said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should make a statement on the steps taken to deal with the situation.

"The developments on the Pakistan border are very disturbing. Continuous ceasefire violations, rising incidences of infiltration and evidence of direct role of Pakistan Army is a matter of concern," BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said.

He alleged that even after the government and the army claimed that the operation in Keran sector was over, one Indian soldier was killed and another grievously injured.

BJP said a major infiltration in Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir was on when Singh was holding talks with his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif in the US.

"BJP demands a statement from the Prime Minister on the developments at the border. He should assure the nation on the issue," Javadekar said.
