BJP's Goa prospects won't be affected Sena-GSM alliance: Sadanand Tanawade

BJP is unfazed by Shiv Sena's alliance with the rebel RSS leader Subhash Velingkar-led Goa Suraksha Manch for the upcoming Goa Assembly polls and says that it will hardly have any effect on the ruling party's winning prospects in the state.

"There will be no impact of Shiv Sena and GSM aligning in the forthcoming Goa polls," state BJP General Secretary Sadanand Tanawade told PTI on Monday.

He said the BJP vote base is intact and has been increasing due to the developmental works of the state government.

"We need not fear. Our organisation is strong. The voters are with us. We will form the next government," Tanawade said.

 

Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackarey had announced last weekend that his party in-principle has agreed to align with Goa Suraksha Manch (GSM).

Thackarey, during his two day visit to Goa, even held a meeting with Velingkar. Sena has already submitted a formal proposal to GSM wherein the saffron party wants to contest on 20 out of the 40 Assembly seats.

The formal discussion on seat sharing will be held after Diwali. Elections for the state Legislative Assembly are due before March next year.
