BJP to raise in Parliament tomorrow move by US to attack Syria

Jaswant Singh is likely to raise this issue in the Lower House

Amid reports that an attack on Syria by the US is imminent, BJP today said it will raise the issue in the Lok Sabha tomorrow as such an occurence is likely to have an adverse impact on the sizable number of Indians working in West Asia.

Senior BJP leader and former External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh is likely to raise this issue in the Lower House on behalf of his party tomorrow.

'US may attack Syria soon. This will create tensions in the Gulf region.... Congress does not appear to be concerned about this issue and its impact. We do not see any worries about this on the faces of Congress leaders,' BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said.
 

Asadudin Owaisi (MIM) raised this issue today in the Lok Sabha and demanded the government clarify how it plans to deal with the crisis that will emerge in the case of an US attack.

5.5 million Indians work in the Gulf, he said, and added they will be affected in the event of a war.
