Perhaps for the first time, a political party in Mysuru has gone all out to woo industrialists to join its fold and help the party reach record membership.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s medium, small and micro enterprises (MSME) Cell of the Karnataka unit has organised a membership drive at the Hebbal Industrial Estate on Sunday.
BJP District President Maruthi Rao Pawar appealed to all industrialists to join the BJP and also bring their friends to strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his efforts to bring good governance in the country. As of now, he said, the total membership in the party was about 18.5 million. He wanted BJP in India to take over the world record of 80 million members held by the Communist Party in China.

State BJP MSME Cell Convener Rajendra Prasad appealed all industrialists to be a part of the cell. The Centre would hear their suggestions through the cell. Some suggestions given by the MSME Cell had been already included in the budget proposals, he stated.
