A day before Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi's oath taking ceremony, TDP leader N. Chandrababu Naidu met him here, but said it was not to get a cabinet berth.
Naidu met Modi at Gujarat Bhavan amid speculation that the Telugu Desam Party leader is seeking representation for his party in the union cabinet.
However, coming out of the meeting, he said ministerial post is not important.
"I did not ask for any representation," Naidu said.
"We are an ally of the NDA, power is not important, national development is important. Both in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana there are problems, under his (Modi's) leadership, we want a solution to these problems," he told TV news channel CNN IBN.
Modi will take oath Monday 6 pm in the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The TDP, which forged a pre-poll alliance with the BJP, won 16 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh.
