Chouhan invites industry big wigs to invest in MP

The MP chief minister was in Mumbai today to talk about investment potential of the state

Industry heavyweights of India have evinced interest in making more investment in Madhya Pradesh. State Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today camped in Mumbai to hawk investment potential of the state and extend invitation to them for forthcoming Global Investors Summit to be organized in October.

Chairman of Tata Group Cyrus Mistry evinced interest in production of solar power pumps and crops of pulses. He informed Chouhan about expansion plan of Tata International in Dewas, a state government spokesperson said.

He further said that Reliance Group's Managing Director Satish Seth informed about establishment of a new unit at company's Maihar plant to augment cement production by 500,000 tonne.

 

He also showed interest in alternative energy, metro rail and defense sectors, a government spokesperson said here today.

Chouhan has invited industrialists to invest in a proposed new industrial town in Madhya Pradesh and has also assured them that Chambal ravines would also be developed in the interest of industrial sectors, the spokesperson said.

Honcos from Tata, Reliance, Shaporji Pallonji, Welspun, Mahindra, Force, Godrej and other industrial houses called on Chief Minister Chouhan today. While extending invitation to them to participate in Global Investors' Summit to be held at Indore in October. The Chief Minister stressed that Madhya Pradesh is an ideal destination for investment and informed them that a new industrial town will be developed between Indore and Bhopal, the spokesperson said further.

Chouhan also sought interest of the business community to make investment in Chambal ravines so that it would also result in all-round development of the area. Industries Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia also accompanied him, the spokesperson said.

Shaporji Pallonji Group's Managing Director Shapor Mistry showed interest in investment possibilities in urban housing projects, Khan river diversion, water supply projects, hi-tech city and alternative energy. Chairman of IPCA Premchand Godha informed about company's projects existing in the state for the last thirty years and held discussions on new extension projects.
