Cong MLAs allege corruption by Modi govt, meet Lokyukta

Gujarat Congress on Monday met state Lokayukta D P Buch and urged him to probe alleged corruption financial irregularity charges against ruling Narendra Modi government.

Congress MLAs lead by party chief whip Balwantsinh Rajput submitted written complaints against the BJP government over various issues including, land allotment to industrial houses without auctioning, allotment of land near the Indo-Pak border for salt and chemical industries and selling off land in Haziara, Surat at throw away prices.

Rajput and his team also alleged corruption by the state-owned Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC), state water resource department in implementation of Sujalam Sufalam scheme and in mining. They further alleged in their complaint to the Lokayukta that the state government was guilty of corruption of crore of rupees in purchase of solar power by state-run Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd and production of gas from the KG Basin. The Congress MLAs have urged the Lokyukta to probe the charges against BJP government. The MLAs who had accompanied Rajput inlcuded Shailesh Parmar, Mahendrasinh Vaghela, Mahendrasinh Bariaya, Amit Chaudhary, Pujabhai Vansh, Mahesh Patel and Dr Anil Joshiyara.
