The Congress on Thursday demanded the sacking of Union Ministers V K Singh over his remark on the killing of Dalit children and of Kiren Rijiju for his comment on north Indians.

"What V K Singh said was shocking, inhuman and it is unacceptable... I do not understand what is happening to Modi's ministers," senior Congress leader Randeep Surjewala told media.

"He does not deserve to be in the position he is in. He must resign," Surjewala said.

Commenting on the killing of two Dalit children, V K Singh on Thursday said the government has nothing to with the issue and that it was a feud between two families.

"If someone throws stones at a dog, the government is not responsible... It was a feud between two families, the matter in under inquiry," Singh told the media.

Two children were burnt alive while their mother sustained burns and is in a critical condition when their house was set on fire in Haryana's Faridabad district on Tuesday.

Surjewala said "Rijiju should also be sacked for the comments he has made on the people of north India."

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju had said on Wednesday that people of north India enjoy breaking the rules.

"I was witness to a statement made by one of Delhi's former Lt. Governors. He had stated that people of north India enjoy breaking the rules and by evening he was forced to apologise. But I believe what he said was right," Rijiju had said.
