Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president and former minister Ponnala Laxmaiah today requested Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan not to locate the offices of the two governments in the existing Secretariat complex as it would lead to complications.
In a letter addressed to the Governor, he suggested that the existing Secretariat complex and the offices of the heads of departments be left to the government of Telangana while finding an alternative location for the government of residuary state of AP within the common capital region.
“It is our view that such sharing of office space between two successor states would result in several complications and a separate accommodation may be provided to the residuary state of AP at a different location,” Laxmaiah said in his letter.

He also opposed the changes reportedly being made to the Secretariat complex such as constructing a new entrance for the Telangana government, besides opposing any move to provide option to the government employees to choose either of the two governments irrespective of their nativity.
It may be recalled that one of the official committees constituted to allocate the office space for the functioning of the two governments had divided the existing office buildings between the two governments.
