Defeating JDS the only strategy: Siddaramaiah

Bypolls are being held for Mandya and Bangalore rural constituencies

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today said defeating JDS in its own bastion was the only strategy before the Congress for the August 21 by-elections to two Lok Sabha seats in the state.

"The only strategy in front of us is to defeat JDS in their own bastion," he told reporters on the sidelines of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) event here.

Bypolls are being held for Mandya and Bangalore rural constituencies, considered to be JDS stronghold due the presence of large Vokkaliga vote base.

On uncertainties about multi-lingual actress Ramya remaining in the fray for Mandya bypolls due to sudden death of her guardian, he said, "She has agreed to contest in this elections, she is seriously fighting the election.
