DMK promises to dismantle liquor shops

DMK today said that it would dismantle TASMAC shops, which sells alcohol in the Tamil Nadu. The party also said it would waive agricultural loan completely if the party was voted for power in the assembly election.

In the 72-page election manifesto released by DMK leader M Karunanidhi today at Chennai, the party promised it would dismantle TASMAC shops in the state.

About 6,700 shops are running across the state and they generate around Rs 26,000 crore revenue.

The party also promised it will waive farmers and MSME loans completely, and will give Rs 3,500 for a tonne of sugarcane. It also promised five lakh fishermen and canteens for poor under Anna name. It also said the govt would spend Rs 10,000 core to clean lakes.
