Setting the ball rolling for the upcoming Assembly polls in Goa, a team of Election Commission senior officials would be in the state on September 14 to check the preparedness to host the elections.
"Three member-team led by Deputy Election Commissioner Umesh Sinha would be in the state on September 14. They will hold interaction with office bearers of different political parties and officials of Chief Electoral Office," a senior official attached to Chief Electoral Office told PTI.
Sinha would be accompanied by CEOs of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, he said.

During his visit, Sinha is expected to gather information liketotal number of voters registered, Indian voters having foreign nationality, number of central and state holidays and other information required to finalise the dates for polling.
The updated list of voters, as per the CEO Goa, state that there are10.84 lakh eligible voters for upcoming Goa Assembly polls.
The elections for Goa are due before March 2017.
