Expecting big crowd as Banerjee-Hazare address rally together: O' Brien

He said our motto is to fight corruption and communal forces

Trinamool Congress (TMC) Rajya Sabha MP (Member of Parliament) and party general secretary Derek O' Brien has expressed satisfaction over the TMC's plunge into the national scene, and its prospects ahead of the 2014 general elections.

"Today is a historic day, as this is the first time that our TMC president (Mamata Bannerjee) will be addressing a historic rally at the Ramlila Ground alongside anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare. We are expecting a big crowd, and it will be something that the country will watch." O' Brien said.

Brushing aside fears of cutting anti-communal votes with the TMC entering the national scene, O' Brien rubbished such doubts.

"What the BJP or the Congress says , I am not interested at all. I am only interested as to what the TMC says. Our motto is to fight corruption and communal forces. Hence, what A or B says doesn't matter much," he said.

Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee is set to address a joint rally with veteran social activist Anna Hazare here today at the capital's massive Ramlila Ground where the former is expected to unveil her "national agenda".
