Reacting to the death of eleven people due to cold yesterday in Delhi Aam Admi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia on Saturday said that government will take action to prevent it.
"We have called an enquiry and I have asked for a detailed report. The last incident that happened is very near to our night shelters," said Sisodia. "I have the prime facie information at this time and if there are deaths, the government has to take actions on this," he said.
In the last 24 hours 11 people have died in Delhi due to the extreme cold prevailing in Delhi.
Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government had promised night shelters for the homeless people a day after it was sworn into power it.
Delhi Cabinet Ministers Rakhi Birla and Manish Sisodia had undertaken an inspection of night shelters to address to this issue.
