In yet another move to resolve the issues faced by the Tribal community in the state, Gujarat government has decided to accept demands of the Tribal villages surrounding Sardar Sarovar Dam.
Minister for forest and environment minister and Tribal development, Ganpatbhai Vasava on Monday informed that the government has decided to create a new Taluka of Garudeshwar near the Sardar Sarovar Dam.
An official announcement will be made by the chief minister, Narendra Modi on October 31. The taluka headquarter is likely to be Kevadia. Notably, the state government had recently announced formation of Chhotaudepur district with majority of the Tribal population.
