Ruling out his resignation over the solar scam, Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy today said his government would sternly deal with the CPI-M-led LDF sponsored agitation of 'indefinite day and night' blockade of the secretariat here from August 12.
“The LDF move to topple a democratically elected government through agitation will not be tolerated at any cost,” Chandy told reporters after a Cabinet meeting. The government will be forced to take stern action in case the siege affects its functioning, he said.
Chandy wanted the Opposition to come out with clear cut reasons in support of their demand. “I have answered all the questions connected to the solar case inside and outside the Assembly. Government has an open mind on the subject. It is ready to examine the demand of Opposition for a judicial probe, if they have any complaints, once the present probe by Special Investigation Team is over.”

On agitation since the scam broke out last month, LDF has decided to hold a secretariat siege with more than 100,000 volunteers from August 12 as a part of a move to intensify the stir demanding Chandy's resignation and a judicial probe. Chandy rejected reports that there were differences in Congress and ruling UDF on the way government handled the case.
