The Gujarat police investigating an alleged charge of poll code violation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given clean chit to Modi by filing a closure report in a metropolitan court in Ahmedabad on Friday.
The closure report was submitted by the Detection of Crime Branch (DCB), Ahmedabad division, in the court of Metropolitan Magistrate M H Patel here. Confirming the development a senior DCB officer said, “We have filed a closure report in the case of alleged poll code violation by Modi on April 30.” The report or C-Summary as it is technically known means that the investigating agency has not found evidence against the accused for which he or she could be prosecuted.
On April 30 while polling for Lok Sabha elections were on in Gujarat Modi had addressed a meeting after casting his vote in Ranip Area. During the meeting Modi was seen holding his party symbol ‘lotus’ while showing his inked finger. He also clicked a ‘selfie’ and posted it on his Twitter account.
