Harshvardhan replaces Vijay Goel, appointed new Delhi BJP chief

The doctor-turned-politician has been a five-time MLA in Delhi

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed Harshvardhan as the President of the party's Delhi unit replacing Vijay Goel from the post.

Party President Rajnath Singh made the appointment after accepting Goel's resignation who has since been nominated to the Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan.

Harshvardhan, 59, is the leader of the opposition in Delhi assembly which has been placed under suspended animation.

The doctor-turned-politician has been a five-time MLA in Delhi.
