Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today criticised the Centre for raising diesel price, saying the party had promised to people to reduce the diesel price before the Lok Sabha elections.

"Contrary to its promise to sell diesel at a rate of Rs 40 per litre, BJP-led NDA government increased its price soon after assuming office," Hooda said while addressing a meeting of party workers in Kurukshetra.

"As a result of the decision of the Central government to hike diesel price, now its price will increase every month," he alleged.

Noting that no political organisation can win election without the support of its workers, Hooda said the results of the Lok Sabha elections reflected that these were in favour of an "individual" and not the party.
