Husbands of 10 corporators in Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) are in fray for the Maharashtra Assembly polls, which are set to witness an interesting contest between relatives and among political dynasties on several seats.

Former minister Chandrakant Handore of Congress is seeking re-election from Chembur Assembly constituency. His wife Sangeeta is a local corporator.

In Vile Parle, Shashikant Patkar (Shiv Sena) and Parag Alavani (BJP) are pitted against each other. Their wives Shubhada and Jyoti, respectively, are sitting corporators from different wards in the area.

Patkar and Alavani are former corporators who had to give up their wards after they were reserved for women.

Now, their respective parties have nominated them for the October 15 Assembly elections. NCP's Sharad Pawar is contesting from Chandivali. His wife Savita is the local corporator.
