I've taken an extraordinary and fair step: Srinivasan

Srinivasan denies that I. S. Bindra asked him to resign in the key meeting held in Chennai

N Srinivasan today told a TV channel that not even single person challenged him during the meeting, which went on "smoothly and without any acrimony".

Srinivasan today handed over the day-to-day duties to Jagmohan Dalmiya.
 
Reiterating that he would not resign because he had not done anything wrong, he said: "I have taken an extraordinary and fair step by saying i will not discharge my functions. My decision was announced after the members expressed their views in the meeting."

Asked whether I S Bindra (President of Punjab Cricket Association) wanted him to resign, Srinivasan said Bindra did not ask him to resign in the meeting. On the other hand, Bindra told reporters that he had asked Srinivasan to resign.
 
 
Commenting on BCCI’s Secretary Sanjay Jagdale and Treasurer Ajay Shirke, who resigned from their posts on May 31, and have turned down BCCI's request to return to the Board, Srinivasan said: "They are my friends and told me they will come back in a while."
