Increase BSP base among upper class voters: Mayawati to party

Mayawati urged BSP office-bearers and party leaders present at the meeting to further expand its base among the 'sarv samaj'

Press Trust of India Lucknow
Bahujan Samaj Party president Mayawati today reviewed her party's preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections with special stress on efforts to increase its base among upper castes voters.

In the light of some 38 brahmin bhaichara sammelans held across Uttar Pradesh over the past two months, Mayawati urged BSP office-bearers and party leaders present at the meeting to further expand its base among the 'sarv samaj'.

BSP sources said that besides a detailed review, the former UP chief minister also directed partymen as to the work to be undertaken by them in the near future.

Expressing happiness over the success of the brahmin bhaichara mahasammelan held earlier this week, Mayawati told her party workers that directions issued by her for the welfare and interest of brahmins should be taken forward among people of all sections in UP.

She asked her partymen to help, in their personal capacities, those affected by floods in the state if the state government was found unable to do so.
