A beaming Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal Sunday termed his party's phenomenal success in the Delhi polls as "peoples' victory".
Waving to throngs of cheering and dancing supporters at the party office on Hanuman Road in Connaught Place here, Kejriwal, who briefly appeared at a first-floor window in the midst of his party's confabulation, said: "Yeh logon ki jeet hai (It is the peoples' victory."
As his supporters waved the broom, the party symbol, Kejriwal said he had always been confident of his party's victory.
He defeated the three-time chief minister of Delhi, Sheila Dikshit, who resigned.
AAP leader Kumar Vishwas, standing next to Kejriwal, shouted into the mike "Bharat Mata ki Jai" and "Aam aadmi hain, hum aam aadmi hain (we are the common people)".
