J&K Govt releases Rs 71 cr for flood-hit areas in Jammu region

Jammu and Kashmir government has released over Rs 71 crore for the flood-hit areas of Jammu region for temporary restoration of damaged public utilities and infrastructure, caused due to recent rains and floods, and ex-gratia relief to the sufferers respectively.

The-Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Shantmanu has released funds to the tune of Rs 6231.155 lakhs and Rs 950.40 lakhs separately under State Disaster Responsive Fund (SDRF) for the year 2013-14 for the purposes, official sources said.

As per the official handout, the funds have been released as approved by the State Executive Committee meeting held on August 22.

The Deputy Commissioners have been directed to utilise the funds for the purpose after completing all necessary formalities as envisaged under SDRF norms.
