BJP leader Arun Jaitley has attacked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, blaming him for India's current economic problems.Speaking at the India Economic Convention 2014, Jaitley said that Manmohan singh did not step in to stop wrong decisions taken by his govt inspite of being the last word in the UPA government. Citing his inaction on allocation of spectrum and coal blocks, Jaitley stressed that UPA formed policies without consensus and created problems for the country.
Jaitley also emphasised that the center piece of BJP's election campaign is going to be governance and policies will have to be framed accordingly to make India a low cost manufacturing hub with focus on real estate, infrastructure and education.
Later at 4:30 pm today, BJP PM candidate Narendra Modi is expected to address more than 350 attendees ranging from CEOs to investment bankers to economists where he is expected to lay down his vision for India's economic growth. While Jaitley's speech has set the tone, Modi is expected to stress on his vision of a job driven economy with special focus on power, manufacturing and infrastructure
