Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa has urged the Prime Minister to take steps to roll back the announced diesel price increase by the oil marketing companies.
Jayalalithaa in an announcement on Aug 30, said the price hike has been a policy of the previous Congress-led UPA government and the current government should consider the impact of the price hike on the pricing of essential commodities.
She said poor people were finding it difficult to come to terms with the price hike at this juncture.
According to Jayalalithaa, Prime Minister has to look at revising the petroleum products pricing formula along with withdrawing the recent hike in diesel price.
