The CBI special court appointed Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) arrived at Dayalu Ammal's residence in Chennai today to question her about the 2G spectrum case.
Dayalu Ammal, 85, wife of DMK chief M Karunanidhi and mother of former DMK MP Kanimozhi, is a prosecution witness in the 2G spectrum case.
Ammal's elder daughter Selvi Selvam, former DMK MP Kanimozhi, lawyers of other people who are suspects in the case including A Raja, Karim Morani (Bollywood producer), Shahid Balwa, Sharad Kumar (Managing Director of Kalignar TV) were also inside the house during the deposition.

Earlier the CBI had, in its chargesheet, discussed the routing of over Rs 200 crore illegal gratifications from Dynamix Realty to Kalaignar TV Pvt Ltd through Kusegaon Fruits and Vegetables Pvt Ltd and Cineyug Films Pvt Ltd. Dayalu Ammal is one of the Directors of Kalignar TV.
Last week, the CBI served summons to Dayalu Ammal in this regard and CMM M Gopal was appointed as commissioner by the CBI special court judge O P Saini, who is conducting the trial in Delhi.
The Apex Court on October 14 questioned the CMM over the delay in recording of Dayalu Ammal's statement. The Court also said this may prolong the trial in the 2G case.
It may be noted that on 22 August the Supreme Court refused to exempt Ammal from deposing as a witness in the case. However, it exempted her from personal appearance in the special CBI court and directed that she be examined in Chennai.
The direction came in response to a petition filed by Ammal's daughter Selvi Selvam, who pleded the Apex Court to exempt her mother from appearing before the trial court on medical grounds.
Reports stated that Dayalu Ammal is suffering from Alzheimer's disease and has been undergoing treatment for more than a year.
